Our Critical Success Factors

Founded in 2003, Global Logistics Network (GLN) is an ISO 9001:2008 Certified organization that encompasses leading independently owned and operated companies worldwide that specialize in the logistics industry – including freight forwarders, transportation intermediaries and associated companies – all working together in a network environment to benefit from our Power of One philosophy.

Today, GLN has a global presence that spans 609 Offices in 314 Cities in 119 Countries. With combined Annual Revenues of USD 9.8 Billion and 28,243 experienced and capable staff handling over 3 million shipments per year, GLN is larger in size than many multi-national forwarders and integrators.

The purpose and objectives of GLN are to:

  • Act as a worldwide umbrella network of selected members who cooperate under established standards, actively promote and support each other in the handling of profitable freight forwarding, logistics, customs brokerage and related services by the pooling of sales, operational and financial resources.
  • Empower members with the capability to meet customers “Critical Success Factors” so that they may effectively compete with multi-nationals and integrators using innovative marketing and IT initiatives.
  • Embrace a GLN global branding culture for the purpose of RFQ/RFP opportunities.
  • Attract and maintain members who are the leaders in their own local markets with a global vision mentality; that maintain and surpass client satisfaction with a reputable status aligned with the highest integrity and service commitment versus accepted industry standards.
  • Provide “value added facilities” to benefit members, maintain and promote the use of the GLN website to aid and assist the development of new business and to provide any other additional initiatives to benefit members through the Power of One philosophy.
  • Develop a member-responsive network that will cooperate and develop a dynamic synergy, operational integrity and efficiencies with financial stability on a non-exclusive basis.
  • Promote a network methodology that adheres to a philosophy of on-going and continuous quality improvement.

After visiting several alternative hotel venues during the course of the past week or so, GLN has selected The Berkeley Hotel as the venue for the second year. The primary reason for this is that the Berkeley Hotel offers such large and spacious conference room facilities along with the ability to block off as many rooms as we need for our delegates. Alternative hotels were visited and found to be lacking in room capacity or would require members to have GPS facilities to navigate to meeting tables that would be scattered all around the conference floor – and in some instances on different floors!

GLN has met with the senior management of the Berkeley Hotel and they have assured us that the minor but annoying teething problems experienced at last years conference will not re-occur. The GLN Conference was the largest event that The Berkeley Hotel had ever held and these issues were as a result of their lack of experience in catering to such a large volume of delegates. The Hotel has committed to doing whatever necessary to make our 2015 Conference a pleasant experience for all: GLN Delegates will have an “Express Check-In Lane”; bars will remain open well past their current last-call times; each delegate will have a “hot-line” for any issues or concerns and GLN will be providing evening tour-buses for those wanting to be dropped off/picked-up in areas where there is more dining and night-life available. GLN will also be providing a fleet of tour-buses to cover airport transfers.

This year, GLN is pleased to have over 80 members who have reached their 10th Year Anniversary with our network and we will be showing our appreciation for their loyalty by inviting them, free of charge, on our (optional) Monday Night Dinner Cruise on Chao Phraya River.

This year, we have again upgraded our conference offerings with more options such as Full and Half-Day Trips, additional Sponsorship Items, etc. The Survey is in the same format as ever allowing GLN to compare results year-on-year and select your nomination for our Annual Award Winners.
